“Our priority is to establish ceasefire and clear the path for dialogue”

 

Speaking at an iftar dinner with AK Party’s CDAC members, President Erdoğan said: “Our priority is to establish ceasefire and clear the path for dialogue. I am speaking frankly; this conflict-ridden process will have severe implications for regional and global security if the necessary intervention is not undertaken. No one could bear the economic and geopolitical uncertainties that would result from such a process. The fire, therefore, must be extinguished before it spreads even further.”

President and Justice and Development (AK) Party Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan delivered a speech during an iftar dinner with the party’s CDAC members, committees, Ankara branch and district heads.

“We advocate for peace. We want bloodshed to stop, suffering to end, and for our region to achieve the lasting calm it has been desiring for years. Particularly during this holy month of Ramadan, we don’t want to see hostilities, wars, tensions and massacres right beside us. This is our stance in the face of all the unlawful attacks that target Iran. Iran is our neighbor. Just like other peoples in the region, the people of Iran, as well, with whom we have been enjoying peace since 1639, are our brothers and sisters. We have lived side by side in peace for centuries. Inshallah, we will continue to live side by side in peace with our Iranian brothers and sisters for many centuries to come. Our priority is to establish ceasefire and clear the path for dialogue.
