“Tanzania is one of our most important partners in East Africa”
Holding a joint press conference with President Hassan of Tanzania, President Erdoğan said: “Tanzania is one of the most important partners of our country in East Africa. Our relations further improve each passing day on the basis of mutual respect and win-win principle.”
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and President Samia Suluhu Hassan of the United Republic of Tanzania held a joint press conference following their meeting at the Presidential Complex.
Describing President Hassan’s visit, the first presidential visit to Türkiye from Tanzania after 14 years, as a milestone in the bilateral relations, President Erdoğan said: “Tanzania, which I visited in 2017, is one of the most important partners of our country in East Africa. Our relations further improve each passing day on the basis of mutual respect and win-win principle.”
“WE AIM TO INCREASE OUR TRADE VOLUME TO $1 BILLION”
“We have thoroughly reviewed our cooperation during today’s talks,” President Erdoğan stated, adding that steps to be taken to expand mutual trade and investments were on the agenda.
President Erdoğan continued his remarks as follows: “Our bilateral trade volume increased from $11 million in 2003 to $345 million last year. However, current figures fall short of reflecting our true potential despite the increase. We aim to increase our trade volume to $1 billion in the first phase. We will intensify our efforts to this end in the period ahead.”
